The Rinse

The Rinse is a weekly DJ night at Friends and Lovers, a music venue in Brooklyn, NY. This project was a personal project conceived by a few DJ friends and I.

Background

The music venue showcased mostly rap & hip hop musicians and DJs, and we felt the need for a 'palate cleanser' DJ night, so we got together and conceived The Rinse. Guests DJ were invited to play weekly and we approached the music choice as 'anything goes as long as it sounds awesome', and would play music genres across the board, including jazz, funk, soul, reggae, cumbia, salsa, disco, R&B, dancehall and some oddball genres.

Goals

Before we started promoting the night, we had to establish an identity for the event, and decide how we would promote our presence online. The Rinse's brand identity needed to be consistent across the different social media platforms.
